Transcript

Ava: Antoine just started a new chapter: a software developer internship at La Caisse.

Andrew: Which team?

Ava: The Digital and Analytics Solutions group, working on development and business-process automation.

Andrew: What does the day-to-day look like?

Ava: According to his CV entry, which starts in August 2026, three things. Automating business processes with SharePoint, TypeScript, C sharp and dot NET. Contributing to A P I integrations and to the migration away from SnapLogic. And working with a cross-functional team to turn business needs into application and integration requirements.

Andrew: So it's code, plumbing and requirements.

Ava: That's how he describes it. The mix of software, system integration and requirements work he was looking for, the same shape as his earlier platform and backend roles, but in an institutional setting.

Andrew: What's he carrying over from before?

Ava: Platform and CI/CD discipline from the IMC2 secure cloud work, with GitLab pipelines, GKE and Terraform. Teaching and documentation habits from Polytechnique and ÉTS, like reproducible setups and clear hand-offs. And dot NET plus structured error handling from IONODES, where Serilog and Sentry fed production diagnostics.

Andrew: I like that he lists habits and not just tools.

Ava: There's a human detail too. He names three people who welcomed him onto the team, and says the offices carry a lot of Quebec art.

Andrew: That sounds like a good first impression.

Ava: The full post has the details and links back to those earlier roles.

1. What the role covers

The CV entry (from August 2026) describes the work in three lines:

  • Develop business-process automation with SharePoint, TypeScript, C# and .NET.
  • Contribute to API integrations and to the migration work away from SnapLogic.
  • Work with a cross-functional team to turn business needs into application and integration requirements.

It is the mix of software, system integration and requirements work I was looking for: the same shape as the platform and backend roles before it, applied to an institutional environment.

2. What I bring from earlier roles

  • Platform and CI/CD discipline from the IMC2 secure cloud work[2] (GitLab pipelines, GKE, Terraform).
  • Teaching and documentation habits from Polytechnique and ÉTS: reproducible setups and clear hand-offs.
  • .NET and structured error handling from IONODES, where Serilog and Sentry fed production diagnostics.

Mohamed Ilias, David Faucher and Mathieu Boisvert welcomed me onto the team. The offices also carry a lot of Quebec art, which gives the place a character of its own.
